Our Story
The story of Puffin Distillery starts in 2017 with a wild idea to launch its own gin (brand). Actually with the intention of surprising and teasing my girlfriend with an old promise I once made.
Since I had no experience with distilling, I started looking for someone who could do this for me.
I already had an idea about botanicals because they had to refer to my grandparents, after some experiments our Puffin Gold was created.
The gin was ready, but I didn't have a story like many gin brands do.
So that was quite a search. But as a bird lover, I thought a puffin (Puffin) not only sounded beautiful, the bird itself had the look I had in mind and after some research it turned out that they also have a nice character. And I thought Puffin sounded just okay too!
A gin - A name - a bottle and a label....Puffin gold was born!
from gin to distillery
Puffin was originally a private label gin produced at a well-known distillery. After the launch of Puffin Gold, I got the hang of it and quickly came up with the idea of creating another gin. In addition, customers asked if we could also make other things. So it was after just two years that we added Puffin Orange and Puffin limoncello to our range.
After following official training as a distiller and expanding the range, the plan was made to set up our own distillery. Especially because there are so many fun spirits to make and distilling is a real craft.
Puffin gin becomes Puffin Distillery with the aim of making several high-quality spirits. But we have also decided, at the request of many, to start with a private label. We do this under the heading distillat
the location
Located in the chicory region, it is now 2024 that we can set up our own production in an old chicory farm that we have renovated in recent years. It is in a shed in the garden that we have the opportunity to do this.

Our Team
"Our Team" is a one-man show for the time being. From Distilling to delivery, from packaging to participation in events, it is mainly done by myself. But luckily I have a fantastic wife and daughter who are willing to help if necessary so that I can take my afternoon nap in peace.
Hopefully in the near future we can grow our World of Puffin into a real team so that our Puffins can spread their wings and everyone can enjoy a delicious gin and tonic, a refreshing Apero or a sunny limoncello.
